Hardware


Hardware support is provided for all hardware although it should be noted Delamere does not carry all types of spares in stock and as such,  some failures can only be identified, costed, time scales identified and reported.  The decision on repair/replace will remain the clients with Delamere providing advice. This is generally more cost effective than a separate hardware maintenance contract for workstations although down-time is always a consideration.

Owing to the mechanical complexities of modern printers, a third party company is used for repair of printers and periodic servicing. Delamere can recommend a company if needed and undertake any liasing required to ensure mechanical break-downs are resolved as quickly as possible. As part of our standard support, a spare printer is also kept in stock enabling fast turn-around for business critical situations.


Software

Delamere support a multitude of products and can alter the levels of support to suit individual user needs. In most instances all standard “office” products will be supported together with the underlying operating systems and network services. General support for company specific software is provided although the ultimate reasonability for software faults should remain with the respective product support company. Again, any liasing required with these companies will be provided with the same level of commitment as normal.


System Support

Besides end-user support, which tends to be product based, system support is often necessary. This can be provided in the first instance by weekly/monthy site visits. If however an issue arises at any other time, telephone support is provided followed by dialling into the system. The final escalation will be for either an emergency call out if either party feels the need.


Training

Sitting with individuals to identify how they use their computers and explain in plain English, functions that they may not be aware of. This will cover all software packages as well as the operating system and general file management. The introduction of simple crib sheets can help to prevent users forgetting procedures.

Typical examples of benefits are printing addresses directly to envelopes, auto-text for repetitive sentences, even understanding the Internet better for those that use it. Macros may also want to be expanded to customise your software specifically to your requirements.

Other benefits of training will be increased stability of workstations and less downtime as users become more familiar with how their computer is working.
